Peacock TV has bagged the adaptation rights for Let Me Hear a Rhyme, a drama based on Tiffany Jackson's novel by the same name. Writer Morenike Balogun, best-known for Vampire Academy and Jupiter’s Legacy will be adapting the book for television.
Morgan Cooper, known for directing the TV show Bel-Air, is reportedly in talks to direct and executive produce the adaptation. Billed as a coming-of-age story, Let Me Hear a Rhyme traces the rise of hip hop music in the 90s, while also being a murder mystery, thriller, and love story. It follows three teenagers who try to piece together clues from their murdered friend's music to track down the murderer.
Rapper and musician Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson will be producing the show through his G-Unit Film and Television in association with Lionsgate TV and Universal TV.
Writer Balogun, Eric and Kim Tannenbaum for The Tannenbaum Co and Cooper Jason Wang will also be serving as co-executive producers.
