Seth MacFarlane to develop Ted into web series

A series based on Seth MacFarlane's adult comedy film Ted is in development at Peacock. The 2012 film set several records at the time of its release and emerged as one of the highest-grossing R-rated films of all time. The film starred MacFarlane in the titular role of a foul-mouthed soft toy that comes to life and featured Mark Walhberg and Mila Kunis as the primary cast members.

The film's 2015 sequel marked the return of the MacFarlane and Walhberg to the marquee, taking the cumulative box-office gross of both the films to over $750 million. MacFarlane, who served as one of the producers of the film will also be producing the show through his Fuzzy Door Productions. Walhberg's association with the project remains undisclosed at this point. 

Universal Television Alternative Studio and UCP, divisions of Universal Studio Group are also on board to produce the show. Further details related to the project are expected to be announced in the weeks to follow.

Meanwhile, MacFarlane is also the creator of the TV show The Orville.
