Aquaman sequel titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

CE Features

Aquaman director James Wan has revealed the title of his upcoming superhero sequel: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

James Wan shared an image on his Instagram from a production meeting, which featured the title, in what looks to be a potential logo for the film. It may be recalled that the filmmaker shared that  Aquaman 2 would be more serious than the first film during last year's DC FanDome. “The second one is a little bit more serious, a little bit more relevant to the world we’re living in today. That’s where it wants to go.” The title implies that the film will majorly focus on the water kingdom Atlantis.

While not many details are known about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Jason Momoa, who plays the titular character, has shared that he will be travelling to Hawaii in July for the shoot. Also returning are Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, and Yahya Abdul Mateen II. Game of Thrones-fame Pilou Asbæek is the newest addition to the cast. The screenplay will be written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who co-wrote the screenplay for the first Aquaman, and also co-wrote the story for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is coming to theatres on December 16, 2022.
