Director Karthik Subbaraj has said that his much-awaited Dhanush-starrer Jagame Thandhiram might get a theatrical release after the Netflix premiere if the producer wishes for it.

He said this during the special Twitter Spaces session to commemorate the music of the film, which released earlier today. Dhanush, Karthik, music composer Santhosh Narayanan were in attendance in the session alongside singers Arivu, Dhee, Anthony Daasan, and lyricist Vivek among many others.

"We might release again in theatres if the producer wishes for it. We all miss the theatrical experience, and we would love to give that experience to the fans," said the director.

Jagame Thandhiram also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Kalaiyarasan, Sanchana Natarajan and James Cosmo.

Produced by Sashikanth, under his banner Y Not Studios, Jagame Thandhiram was supposed to hit theatres last year. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release was postponed and the film will now release directly on Netflix on June 18.
