With Jagame Thandhiram inching towards its Netflix premiere, Dhanush has said that he hopes that the film will entertain people in such bleak times.

He said this during the special Twitter Spaces session that was hosted by Sony Music South earlier today. The session had Dhanush, director Karthik Subbaraj, music composer Santhosh Narayanan, singers Arivu, Dhee, Anthony Daasan, and lyricist Vivek doing a music release function of sorts in front of almost 15,000 listeners.

"I've been waiting for a very long time for the release of the film and the music. While I wish the film released in better circumstances, I hope the film will provide some entertainment and cheer the people in such bleak times," said the actor.

Jagame Thandhiram, which was supposed to hit theatres last year, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Produced by Sashikanth, under his banner Y Not Studios, Jagame Thandhiram also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Kalaiyarasan, Sanchana Natarajan and James Cosmo. The film will premiere on Netflix on June 18.
