Christina Ricci to star in The Matrix 4

Actor Christina Ricci, best-known for her roles in American films such as Sleepy Hollow and Monster is set to star in The Matrix 4. The film marks her second collaboration with filmmaker, Lana Wachowski after the 2008 film Speed Racer.

Led by Keanu Reeves, who will be reprising his iconic role of Neo, The Matrix 4, also marks the return of Carrie-Anne Moss, who played Trinity in the original trilogy, and Jada Pinkett Smith's Niobe. New additions to the cast include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jonathan Groff, and Neil Patrick Harris, to name a few. Plot details related to the highly anticipated sci-fi film are currently kept under tight wraps.

The fourth instalment of the franchise has been written by Lana Wachowski, David Mitchell, and Aleksander Hemon, with Wachowski co-producing the film with Grant Hill and James McTeigue. The Matrix 4 is scheduled to release on December 22 this year.

On the acting front, Ricci was last seen in Percy alongside Christopher Walken, and is also set to appear in the upcoming supernatural drama Monstrous.
