Malayalam actor Anu Sithara and George Reddy-fame Muskaan Khubchandani will feature as the female leads in Dr Rajasekhar's upcoming film, Sekhar. The crime-thriller is being directed by debutant director Lalith and will see Anu as Rajasekhar's ex-wife and Muskaan as his ex-lover.

Set in the hinterlands of Andhra Pradesh, Sekhar has completed about 50 per cent of the shoot before the pandemic. "The duo has started shooting for the film in the last schedule which was suspended abruptly in Araku due to rising Covid-19 cases. The makers are making attempts to begin the next schedule in July provided the pandemic situation eases out," informs a source close to the development.

The film, a collaboration between MLV Satyanarayana, Shivani, Shivatmika and Venkata Srinivas Boggaram, will tell the story of a suspended police officer and his resolve to unravel the mystery behind a murder case.

The release date of the film has not been decided yet.
