Television actor Pearl V Puri has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor. As per reports, the Mumbai Police said the incident is old but the victim has identified Pearl recently. A case has been registered under Section 376 (rape) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

Pearl was arrested from Vasai in Mumbai. He is presently remanded in police custody, reports added.

Actor Anita Hasnandani expressed disbelief at the allegations. Posting a picture with Pearl, she wrote on Instagram, “Woke up to some nonsensical news bout @pearlvpuri I know him! It is NOT true ... canNOT be true.... all lies. I’m sure there is more to it. And the truth will be out soon. Love you @pearlvpuri #ISTANDWITHPEARL."

Pearl is known for playing Mahir Sehgal/Mihir Sippi in the Ekta Kapoor-backed series Naagin 3. He has also appeared in Bepanah Pyaar and Brahmarakshas 2.
