Actor Jodie Turner-Smith is in talks to join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming film White Noise.

If she is cast, Turner-Smith will join Greta Gerwig and Adam Driver in the film, which is director Noah Baumbach’s adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel.

Variety reported the news and added that Netflix declined to comment.

White Noise follows Jack (Driver), a professor who specialises in teaching Hitler studies at a liberal arts college in Middle America. Jack, his fourth wife Babette (Gerwig) and their kids attempt to navigate the usual rocky passages of family life. However, an “airborne toxic event” disrupts their peace and forces them to face the threat of death together.

There are no details about the role Turner-Smith would play if she is cast.

Director Baumbach, apart from directing, is also adapting the novel to screen. White Noise is Baumbach’s third film for Netflix, after the Oscar-nominated Marriage Story and The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected).

Turner-Smith’s breakout film role was in Universal’s romantic drama Queen & Slim. She recently appeared in the Michael B Jordan-led action-thriller Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse. She will be seen next in the British limited series Anne Boleyn, portraying the second wife of King Henry VIII.
