The animation reboot of popular comics, film, and television franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is in works at Nickelodeon Animation Studio. Actor-filmmaker Seth Rogen will be producing the CG reboot. On Tuesday, Rogen took to Twitter to hint at the development of the spin-off and shared a picture of what appeared to be a page from the notebook of Leonardo, one of the main characters of the franchise.

The franchise has spawned several TV series and films, both live-action and animated, with Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2019 marking the characters' latest appearance in a feature film.

Rogen, who will be producing the film through his production house Point Grey Pictures, subsequently revealed that the film will be releasing on August 11, 2023. Screenwriter Brendan O’Brien, whose previous writing credits include Rogen-led Neighbors and its sequel, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, will be penning the script for the reboot. Jeff Rowe, who co-directed the recently released Netflix animated film The Mitchells vs. the Machines is reportedly in talks to direct the film.

Rogen, who has recently executive produced Amazon Prime Video's superhero series Invincible, will also be seen in the upcoming miniseries, Pam & Tommy, a biographical account of actor Pamela Anderson and drummer Tommy Lee.
