Actor Karthik, fondly known as Navarasa Nayagan by fans, hurt his leg while working out at his home in Chennai. The actor slipped and fell hurting his leg. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Chennai. 

After a short period of hospitalisation, the actor is back in his residence and is resting. 

The 60-year-old actor, son of the veteran actor Muthuraman, acted in some of the most successful films in the 80s and 90s. He is known for the blockbusters like Agni Natchathiram (1988), Kizhakku Vaasal (1990), and Pistha (1997). 

Karthik was last seen in Mr Chandramouli (2018), which also featured his son Gautham Karthik in the lead role. Later, he played a cameo in Karthi's Dev (2019). 

The actor is currently part of Andhagan, the Tamil remake of Andhadhun (2018), which marks the comeback of actor Prashanth. Karthik will be reprising the role of Anil Dhawan from the original.
