Pam Grier joins Pet Sematary prequel

Actor Pam Grier, best-known for playing the titular character in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, is onboard the Pet Semetary prequel. The horror film, which is currently in works at Paramount+, will be reportedly set decades before the events of the 2019 feature film adaptation of Stephen King's novel, Pet Sematary, starring Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz in the lead roles.

According to Collider, the new film, which doesn't have a release date yet, will also star Natalie Alyn Lind and Isabella Star LaBlanc. The prequel is expected to commence photography next month, with screenwriter Lindsey Beer, known for penning Netflix's Sierra Burgess is a Loser will be reportedly making her directorial debut with the film.

Grier, on the other hand, has appeared in films like Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the 7th DayLarry CrowneJust Wright, and Bad Grandmas in the past decade. She was last seen in the 2018 comedy, Poms.
