Nayanthara's Netrikann heads to OTT

The film also features Ajmal, Manikandan, and Saran in prominent roles

The streaming release of Nayanthara-starrer Netrikann has been a matter of speculation for a long while. On Wednesday, the makers of the film have officially announced that the film will be skipping a theatre release to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar instead. The release date of the film is expected to be announced shortly.

Directed by Milind Rau, who directed the 2017 horror film Aval, the film stars Nayanthara as a blind protagonist. The film also features Ajmal, Manikandan, and Saran in prominent roles. Bankrolled by Vignesh Shivan through Rowdy Pictures, Netrikann has music by Girishh, while RD Rajasekhar has handled the cinematography.

Meanwhile, it is being speculated that Nayanthara will also be playing a crucial character in Bahubali: Before the Beginning web series, currently in works at Netflix. Her upcoming projects include Annaatthe, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, and the Vignesh Shivan-directorial, Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, co-starring Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha.
