Antonio Banderas joins Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones 5

Actor Antonio Banderas is the latest addition to the upcoming fifth instalment of Indiana Jones, which is currently in production. Banderas will star alongside Harrison Ford, in the all-star ensemble that includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson.

Indiana Jones 5 is directed by James Mangold, who has also co-written the script with Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth. This will also be the first film in the series not to be directed by Steven Spielberg. Speilberg, who is serving as a producer, remains to be creatively involved in the project.

John Willaims, who composed the film's iconic theme, is returning as the music composer. Production of the film is currently underway. The film is set to hit theatres on July 29, 2022. The plot details of the film are still vague.

Banderas can be seen in the recently released Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He also recently finished production on Uncharted starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. He is set to return to star in Puss in Boots sequel and will be seen next in the Spanish comedy Official Competition, opposite Penelope Cruz.
