Director-turned-actor Sasikumar's next film as lead has been officially launched on Tuesday with a pooja ceremony. The unit of the yet-to-be-titled film commenced photography by canning a song sequence. The film, which will be helmed by debutant director M Hemanth Kumar, will feature music by D Imman.

Billed as a rural action entertainer, a genre that's considered Sasikumar's forte, the film is being bankrolled by S Lakshman Kumar through Prince Pictures, the production house behind Karthi's upcoming Sardar. While Bigg Boss-fame Samyuktha Shanmughanathan plays a prominent role in the film, the makers are expected to formally announce the rest of the cast shortly

The new film has cinematography and editing by Ganesh Chandra and Shiva Nandeeswaran, respectively, while action choreographer duo Anbariv will be composing the stunt sequences.

Meanwhile, Sasikumar has Rajavamsam, MGR Magan, Pagaivanuku Arulvai, and Kombu Vatcha Singamda in his pipeline.
