Rajinikanth dissolves Rajini Makkal Mandram

Rajinikanth has put an end to speculations of his re-entry into politics, by dissolving his Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) today morning. 

Announcing the decision to dissolve RMM, the superstar said the outfit will be revert to functioning as a fans’ welfare association.

“What we expected didn't happen due to the prevailing situation. I don't have any plans to enter politics in the future,” shared Rajinikanthafter his meeting with RMM functionaries.

"The RMM is disbanded and the functionaries would return back to working as the Rajinikanth Fans Forum (Rajinikanth Rasigar Narpani Mandram) which is aimed at carrying out activities for people's welfare," Rajinikanth said.

"Post my announcement last year about his unwillingness to make the political plunge, it is my duty to clarify the status of the Mandram which was created as a precursor body to facilitate the launch of a political party, he added.

Rajinikanth made the announcement after he met with RMM functionaries, whom he met to plan the future of the outfit.

Before meeting the representatives, the actor had shared to reporters that the meeting will also discuss the prospects of him making a political entry in the future. A section of fans saw this as a tease for his re-entry into politics, but all their hopes were shattered when he announced the dismantling of RMM.
