The shooting of the most-awaited Maanaadu starring Silambarasan TR was wrapped yesterday. The actor presented director Venkat Prabhu with a branded smartwatch and gave 300 more watches to everyone on the set as a token of gratitude. 

Maanaadu is said to be a sci-fi thriller based on time reversal, the project which had been in talks since 2018, went on floors in February 2020. Co-starring SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles, the film also has Premgi Amaren, Bharathiraja and SA Chandrasekaran.

The film, produced by Suresh Kamatchi has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Richard M Nathan. Maanaadu is expected to hit the theatres later this year. It has been promised to be dubbed into languages like Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada, and released under the title Rewind. 

Apart from this film, STR has Pathu Thala and Nadhigalile Neeradum Sooriyan in the pipeline. Venkat Prabhu, on the other hand, has announced a quick project, which is reportedly starring Ashok Selvan in the lead.
