Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan will star in the Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha, trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed on Saturday.

Released in 2017, the hit Tamil action-thriller starred R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. A Hindi remake of the film has been in the offing for a while now. It will be helmed by Pushkar-Gayathri, the director duo of the original film.

Taran Adarsh tweeted, "HRITHIK - SAIF IN 'VIKRAM VEDHA' REMAKE... #HrithikRoshan and #SaifAliKhan will star in the #Hindi remake of #Tamil film #VikramVedha... Pushkar-Gayathri - the director duo of the original film - will direct the #Hindi version too... 30 Sept 2022 release."

Inspired by the folktale Baital Pachisi, Vikram Vedha followed a cop, played by R Madhavan, on the hunt of a gangster, played by Vijay Sethupathi. After he voluntarily surrenders himself, Sethupathi's Vedha tells three stories to the cop, altering his perceptions of good and evil.

Hrithik and Saif were co-stars in the 2002 drama Na Tum Jaano Na Hum. Hrithik has never played a police officer before, though Saif has played both a cop and a gangster. Their exact roles in the remake are yet to be revealed.
