Director-writer duo May el-Toukhy and Maren Louise Käehne who earlier teamed up for the 2019 film Queen Of Hearts are reuniting for a new series. Titled Dependency, the series is an adaptation of an autobiographical novel by Danish author Tove Ditlevsen.

Nordisk Film Production, which had earlier bankrolled The Guilty (which is now being remade by Jake Gyllenhaal for Netflix), has secured the rights to the 1971 novel and will be producing the series.

Dependency will be a four-part series and will portray author Tove Ditlevsen's four marriages with four vastly different men. The series will dwell deep into the various roles of the author such as artist, mother, wife, and addict.

The cast and crew details of Dependency is expected to be announced soon.
