The Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) have urged the producers of Telugu cinema to release their films in theatres and asked them not to head for OTT releases till October 30. "We request the producers to consider releasing their films only in theatres as the livelihood of many people is at stake. Many people working in theatres are at the risk of losing their employment and we urge them to hold the digital releases till October," said Murali Mohan, president of Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce.

The members opined that a direct digital release would make the content susceptible to piracy. They also raised concern over pirates uploading a clear print of the film online within 30 minutes of its OTT release. The TFCC also stated that the repeat value for a film would be high only if it is released in theatres. The TFCC is hopeful that the theatres would get to resume operations in August. The meeting was also attended by several distributors and exhibitors of the region.
