While the makers of KGF: Chapter 2 have been refuting rumours for more than a year that the film will skip a theatrical release, there have still been various reports online that the film might release straight on an OTT platform owing to the pandemic. The makers have once again confirmed today that the Yash-starrer will release on the big screens. 

Hombale Films, the production house of KGF 2, took to Twitter to share an image that also confirmed that the film's release date will be out soon. The tweeted image reads, "The monster will only arrive when the hall is filled with gangsters. His new arrival date will be announced soon." The film was initially scheduled for release on 23 October 2020, and later on 16 July 2021. 

Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Srinidhi Shetty, Malavika Avinash, and Eswari Rao. The film, with Bhuvan Gowda's cinematography and Ravi Basrur's music, will release in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.
