Alaya F, who made her acting debut with the Saif Ali Khan-starrer Jawaani Jaanemaan, is set to star in the Hindi remake of the Kannada mystery film, U Turn. The film, which will be produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor will begin filming on Tuesday, the makers announced. 

The original film, starring Shraddha Srinath in the lead role, was directed by Pawan Kumar, who went on to helm the Telugu-Tamil bilingual remake of the film with Samantha stepping into the lead actor's shoes. The Hindi remake will be helmed by Arif Khan. The film follows a journalist on a trial to uncover the reason behind the mysterious deaths of bikers who break traffic rules. 

Further details related to the project are currently under wraps. Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor were among the Indian film personalities to join the new batch of executive members in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the governing body of the Oscars. Upcoming films from their production house, Balaji Telefilms, include Ek Villan Returns and Goodbye.
