Disney Plus, Lucasfilm shared the first look of their upcoming anime anthology series, Star Wars: Visions. The series will premiere on the streamer on September 22. 

Comprising nine short films, the streaming platform also revealed the seven Japanese anime studios behind the production of this series. Each of the animation studios — Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio (Twin Engine), Studio Colorido (Twin Engine), Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Science Saru and Production IG — will bring their own unique animation styles to bring to life the vision of George Lucas' Star Wars universe, reported Variety.

In a press statement, Disney Plus said, "From the beginning, stories told in the Star Wars galaxy have counted Japanese mythology and the films of Akira Kurosawa among their many influences, and these new visions will further explore that cultural heritage through the unique animation style and perspective of each anime studio."

While Kanako Shirasaki is producing Star Wars: Visions, Lucasfilm's Jacqui Lopez, James Waugh, and Josh Rimes are onboard the series as the executive producers along with Justin Leach of Qubic Pictures.
