Director Priyadarshan is set to reunite with Akshay Kumar for a film that will go on floors next year. In an interaction with PTI, Priyadarshan said, "We were supposed to start shooting for it this year, but it got delayed. It's an out-and-out comedy film and we are now looking to start shooting early next year."

The actor-filmmaker duo have worked in blockbuster comedy films like the Hera Pheri series, Garam Masala and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

On Saturday, the filmmaker met Akshay from the sets of the latter's upcoming film, Raksha Bandhan,
to discuss their upcoming project. 

Meanwhile, Priyadarshan is currently awaiting the release of his next film, Hungama 2, which will begin streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on July 23. A sequel to the director's 2003 film of the same name, Hungama 2 features actor Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Meezaan Jaffrey, and Pranitha Subhash in the cast.
