With lockdown restrictions slowly being relaxed, Tamil cinema too is returning to normalcy, and in what is the biggest step so far in that direction, Sun Pictures confirmed the release date of Rajinikanth's next, Annaatthe.

Earlier this year, it was announced by Sun Pictures that Annaatthe will release on November 4 for Deepavali. However, with the lockdown in place, and the pandemic still around, it was doubted if the Siva directorial would hit the screens as planned. With this update, all such doubts have been put to rest. It was also revealed that the first look of the film will be released soon.

Directed by Siva, Annaatthe marks the first collaboration between the filmmaker and Rajinikanth. This is composer Imman's first film with the actor and second with the director.

Apart from Rajinikanth, Annaatthe stars Meena, Khushboo, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Prakashraj, Robo Shankar, Soori, and Sathish in important roles.

Said to be a rural drama, Annaatthe has Vetri and Ruben handling cinematography and editing, respectively.
