Fahadh Faasil-starrer Malik to release on Amazon Prime Video on July 15

Mahesh Narayanan-Fahadh Faasil film Malik will premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video on July 15, the makers have officially announced.

The big-budget period film was initially slated for an Eid day theatrical release in May, but the emergence of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent closure of theatres forced the team to opt for a direct-to-digital release.

Recently, producer Anto Joseph had stated that he was considering releasing both Malik and Cold Case via OTT. The latter released on Prime Video on June 30.

A political period drama, Malik has Fahadh sporting four different looks in different periods. Nimisha Sajayan plays the female lead.

Vinay Forrt, Indrans, Dileesh Pothan, and yesteryear actor Jalaja are also part of the cast. Sanu Varghese, who also collaborated with Mahesh in Take Off, is the cinematographer.

Mahesh had completed the film last year, prior to making CU Soon with Fahadh, Roshan Mathew, and Darshana Rajendran during the lockdown.
