Two and a Half Men actor Melanie Lynskey has been roped in for an upcoming episode of CBS' Young Sheldon, the popular prequel of Big Bang Theory.

Lynskey, who starred as Rose in Two and a Half Men, will play a college professor in the episode.

Young Sheldon is currently in its fourth season and stars Ian Armitage as Sheldon Cooper. The show revolves around Sheldon and his family in Texas. Actor Jim Parsons had portrayed Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory and continues to be a part of the prequel by providing the narration for his iconic character.

With Sheldon entering college in the fourth season of the series, Lynskey will appear as Sheldon's philosophy teacher Ericson in the episode titled A Philosophy Class and Worms That Can Chase You. The logline for the episode reads: "Sheldon's first day of college is derailed by his new philosophy teacher." The episode is scheduled to air on February 11.

Lynskey was recently seen in Mrs. America and Castle Rock. She made her feature film debut in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures and is also known for her roles in Key and Peele, and the HBO dramedy Togetherness. She is all set to appear in Adam McKay's disaster comedy, Don't Look Up.
