CE Features

Taapsee Pannu has shared a glimpse of her on-field cricket training for her upcoming film, Shabaash Mithu. The biopic will star Taapsee as ace cricketer Mithali Raj. For the role, Taapsee is training with coach Nooshin Al khadee, perfecting her actions and stance to play a professional cricketer on screen.

Speaking about her training regimen, Taapsee said, “I’ve never played the game before, have just been a spectator and a hyper-ventilating fan of the game. Being on the other side is going to be a huge challenge. But I feel pressure brings out the best in me. This is probably that one common trait I can identify between me and Mithali.”

Shabaash Mithu is directed by Rahul Dholakia and written by Priya Aven. The film portrays the inspiring tale of the captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team.

Taapsee recently wrapped up Rashmi Rocket, another sports-themed film about a sprinter in Kutch. She will also be seen in Haseen Dillruba and Loop Lapeta
