In a major update on Thursday, Vels Film International announced that Simbu will be reteaming with filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon for his next.

The duo previously joined hands for Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010) and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016). 

Vels Film International posted a picture of producer Ishari K Ganesh with Simbu and the latter's mother Usha Rajendar to announce the project. The tweet also mentions that the filming will commence soon. 

The actor-filmmaker duo also took to their Twitter accounts and wrote:

Simbu was recently seen in Susienthiran's Eeswaran, and the actor is currently awaiting the release of Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu. He will also be seen in Obeli N Krishna's Pathu Thala, alongside Gautham Karthik.

Gautham Menon, on the other hand, last directed the Avarum Naanum – Avalum Naanum short in the Amazon Prime anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai and the Vaanmagal short in the Netflix anthology Paava Kadhaigal. He is also helming a short in Netflix's anthology series Navarasa, starring Suriya.
