An animated Game of Thrones series is reportedly in the early development stages at HBO Max.

HBO's hit fantasy drama Game of Thrones, was based on George RR Martin’s The Song of Ice and Fire novel series. It followed the twisted tales of various kingdoms competing to conquer the Iron Throne of the magical land of Westeros. Earlier, a prequel to the series titled House of the Dragon, based on Martin’s 2018 novel Fire and Blood, was announced and is scheduled for release in 2022.

Later on, there were reports that a series based on Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg is also in works.

Now, Variety has reported that though HBO Max has refused to comment on the buzz, multiple sources speculate the same. However, there are no details available about the plotline or the cast and crew.
