Rajinikanth's upcoming film Annaatthe will be released this Diwali. The producers of the film, Sun Pictures, announced this via Twitter today. "Annaatthe will be releasing on November 4th, 2021. Get ready for Annaatthe Deepavali," read the tweet. 

Directed by Siva, Annaatthe marks the first collaboration between the filmmaker and Rajinikanth. This is composer Imman's first film with the actor and second with the director.

Annaatthe was earlier scheduled for release this Pongal, but due to multiple shooting halts because of crew members testing positive for COVID 19, the film got delayed. 

Apart from Rajinikanth, Annaatthe stars Meena, Khushboo, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Prakashraj, Robo Shankar, Soori, and Sathish.

Said to be a rural drama, Annaatthe has Vetri and Ruben handling cinematography and editing, respectively.
