We had earlier reported that Vijay Deverakonda's upcoming martial arts film with Puri Jagannadh has been titled Liger. Karan Johar, who is presenting the film in Hindi and the four South Indian languages, took to Instagram to introduce Vijay as a kickboxer named Liger, with a lion and a tiger in the background. The film also comes with the tagline, 'Saala Crossbreed'.

The film marks the debut of Ananya Panday in Telugu cinema.

"Proud to present Liger, starring the ruler of big screens and many hearts - Vijay Deverakonda and the fiery Ananya Panday. Directed by the exceptionally skilled Puri Jagannadh, we can't wait to let the world witness this story in five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. See you on the big screens," posted Karan.

Vijay too shared his excitement about being a part of this pan-Indian film. "Someone with my background shouldn’t have reached anywhere near here according to the conventions and set norms. But with sheer madness, passion, hard work, here we are," he tweeted.

The shooting of Liger, which was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will resume shortly.
