American rapper Cardi B has signed her first film as a lead. She will be headlining a project titled Assisted Living

Known for hit numbers like Bodak Yellow, I Like It and WAP, Cardi B previously made a minor appearance in Jennifer Lopez's Hustlers.

Touted to be a loud comedy with a lot of heart, Assisted Living will be on the lines of Tootsie, Sister Act and Mrs Doubtfire. Cardi B will essay the role of Amber, a small-time crook who finds herself in a mess when a heist goes wrong.

"On the run from the cops and her former crew, she struggles to find anywhere to hide. Running out of options, Amber disguises herself as an elderly woman and hides out in the one place no one will look, her estranged grandmother's nursing home," reads the official plotline.

The film is based on an original script by This Is Us writer Kay Oyegun. It is produced by Temple Hill and Stephen Love.
