Actors Aditi Rao Hydari and Prosenjit Chatterjee will headline Vikramaditya Motwane’s upcoming web series Stardust, reports claim. The upcoming series will explore the rivalry in work culture in the film industry from the 1940s.

The fictional show is inspired by real events in Bollywood from the time, reports add. It was expected to go on floors in March-April last year but was delayed due to the pandemic.

Besides Aditi and Prosenjit, actor Aparshakti Khurrana is reportedly also a part of the show. The makers have planned eight to nine episodes for the first season.

Vikramaditya Motwane was the showrunner on Sacred Games. He also co-directed its first season. The director’s recent film, AK vs AK, was a success on Netflix. Besides Stardust, he is also working on the series adaptation of Black Warrant, a 2019 book detailing real stories from the Tihar Jail.

Prosenjit Chatterjee’s last Bollywood appearance was in Traffic (2016). The Bengali superstar has also worked in Hindi films like Meet Mere Man Ke, Veerta, and Shanghai
