Actors Suhasini, Revathy, Nithya Menon, Ramya Nambeesan, Kaniha, Uma Iyer, and Jaishri have come together to sing the first thiruppavai for a music video, which will have actor-danseuse Shobana performing.

Conceptualised by Suhasini, the song and the video have been put together by Ravi G, Subhasri Thanikachalam, Kevindas, and Bagath. The production involved some of the actors recording themselves remotely. The video has been titled Maargazhi Thingal.

“We are not professional singers. But our passion for devotional poetry and the importance of the margazhi month inspired us to create this song and video,” said Suhasini, in a statement.

The video will be released on January 8.
