Director Vishnuvardhan, known for his films Billa (2007) and Arrambam (2012), is making his directorial debut in Bollywood with the film Shershaah. Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, the film was supposed to be released in 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic.

Now, it is confirmed that Shershaah, which is based on the life of war hero Vikram Batra, a recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, is set for release on July 2.

The film, produced by Karan Johar of Dharma Productions and co-produced by Kash Entertainment, will be having a worldwide release.

Vishnuvardhan has been missing from action for a while now. His last film, Yatchan, was released in 2015, which makes Shershaah his comeback film. On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani were last seen in Marjaavaan (2019) and Indoo Ki Jawani (2020), respectively.
