Actor Richa Panai has been roped in to appear in a crucial role in Dr Rajasekhar's upcoming crime-thriller Sekhar.

"Richa has agreed in principle to be a part of the film. The makers felt that she was the perfect fit for the role as it requires her to display an array of emotions. She will sign the dotted line soon and join the sets in the next schedule," says a source.

Last seen in Rakshaka Bhatudu, Richa has recently recovered from Covid-19.

Directed by Lalith, Sekhar showcases Rajasekhar as a suspended police officer, who is known for his investigative prowess.

The film's next schedule will commence on February 22 in Hyderabad. "After this, the team will leave for Araku to shoot the flashback and other crucial portions. The makers are planning to release Sekhar in summer," the source adds.

Presented by Thammareddy Bharadwaja, Sekhar has music by Anup Rubens.
