Alankrita Shrivastava’s Bombay Begums will drop on Netflix on March 8. The upcoming series follows five modern women living in Mumbai as they tackle ‘desire, ethics, personal crises and vulnerabilities’ to own their ambition.

The nine-episode series is led by Pooja Bhatt, Shahana Goswami, Amruta Subhash, Plabita Borthakur and Aadhya Anand. The cast also includes Rahul Bose, Vivek Gomber and Danish Husain.

Talking about the show, Alankrita said, "Bombay Begums is a story about Indian women that I hope women in India, and across the world, will connect with. It's the story of glass ceilings shattered, and also of the hearts broken in the process. I have tried to create a world that reflects the realities of urban working women.”

Alankrita’s previous works, Lipstick Under My Burkha and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, also featured multiple female protagonists in an urban setting.
