CE Features

AR Rahman has been roped in to score the music for the upcoming war film, Pippa. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP and Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films, and directed by Raja Krishna Menon (Airlift). It stars Ishaan Khattar, Mrunal Thakur, and Priyanshu Painyuli.

Pippa is based on the book The Burning Chaffees, written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. Khattar will play Brigadier Mehta of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron, who fought on India’s eastern front during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, which led to the creation of Bangladesh. The film's title highlights the Russian amphibious tank PT-76, popularly known as Pippa.

This will be Rahman’s first Bollywood film since 2020’s Dil Bechara, starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput. He also has projects like 99 Songs, Le Musk, Ponniyin Selvan, and Aadu Jeevitham in the pipeline.

Pippa is slated to hit theatres later this year.
