Vin Diesel is set to collaborate with F Gary Gray, the director of The Fate of the Furious, for an action-comedy titled Muscle. The film, which is currently in pre-production, will begin principal photography in the second half of 2021. The project marks the third collaboration between the actor and director after the 2003 film A Man Apart and The Fate of the Furious in 2017.

While the details of the project are kept under wraps, it is reported that John Swetnam and Malcolm Spellman have reworked the original script by Scott Taylor & Wesley Jermaine Johnson. Gray will also be serving as one of the executive producers on the project.

Muscle is produced by STXfilms. Meanwhile, Diesel will be reprising his iconic character, Dominic Toretto, in F9, the ninth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, which is set to hit screens in June.
