Popular Gujarati and Hindi film actor Amit Mistry, who recently starred in Amazon Prime Video's Bandish Bandits, passed away today due to a cardiac arrest.

Amit's manager Maharshi Desai told PTI, "He woke up, had his breakfast, and even exercised before he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was absolutely fit and fine. Amit had no underlining medical condition. It's absolutely shocking."

A prominent face in the Gujarati theatre circuit, Amit has worked in films like Kya Kehna and Ek Chalis ki Last Local. His collaborations with filmmaker duo Raj-DK in Shor in the City, 99, and A Gentleman were well known.

Reacting to the shocking news, Rajesh Tailang, his Bandish Bandits co-star, wrote on Twitter, "Brother Amit, can't believe that someone so full of life is no more. Keep spreading love the way you used to wherever you are." Other celebrities like Swanand Kirkire, Tisca Chopra, and Hansal Mehta too took to social media to express their condolences.

The actor is survived by his mother.
