Veteran composer Shravan Rathod passes away due to Covid-19 complications

One half of the Nadeem-Shravan duo, veteran composer Shravan Rathod passed away on Thursday night. He had tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week and was admitted to Raheja Hospital in Mumbai. He was in a critical condition and had comorbidities like heart and lung issues. 

Sharing his condolences, film director Anil Sharma tweeted, 

Nadeem-Shravan delivered several hit albums through the 90s. They got their break with the soundtrack of Aashiqui (1991), directed by Mahesh Bhatt. The album exemplified the filmi-ghazal genre and marked the rise of Kumar Sanu.

Post-Aashiqui, the duo cemented their success with Saajan, Phool Aur Kaante, and Sadak, all released in 1991. Their other notable albums from the decade include Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Diwali, Barsaat, Raja Hindustani, Pardes, and others. 

Nadeem-Shravan continued collaborating through the early 2000s. After a brief split in 2006, they made their comeback with David Dhawan’s Do Knot Disturb in 2009.
