PM Narendra Modi: Vivekh's concern for environment and society shined through his films and life

Veteran Tamil comedian Vivekh passed away earlier today in Chennai. Right from the time this news broke, fans and film fraternity members have been expressing their grief, shock, and condolences on social media. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and wrote that Vivekh's comic timing and intelligent dialogues entertained people. "Both in his films and his life, his concern for the environment and society shone through. Condolences to his family, friends and admirers. Om Shanti," he added.

Vivekh, a veteran of over 200 films, was admitted to the hospital on Friday following a cardiac arrest. The actor underwent angioplasty surgery at the hospital and was on ECMO in the ICU. The actor passed away earlier today due to cardiac-related complications.

Vivekh is survived by his wife and two daughters.
