Samantha pens note on cancel culture: Actors are humans and make mistakes too

CE Features

Samantha, in a new Instagram post, took a jibe at cancel culture. In the short clip, the actor said, "Since when did actors' opinion matter so much?"

The Theri actor also captioned the video clip with a note which took a dig at cancel culture. She wrote, "Why are actors crucified for having an opinion about the important matters pertaining to the world? We are humans too and we make mistakes too. But cancelling us for speaking out or not speaking out aloud on each and every topic is a bit unfair, don't you think? Let us stick to what we do best... making you fall in love with our performances."

Many celebrities, including Yami Gautam, Vimala Raman, and singer Chinmayi Sripada, agreed with Samantha in the comments.

On the work front, Samantha will next be seen as Shakuntala in director Gunasekhar’s mythological film Shaakunthalam. The shoot was earlier stalled when the director tested positive for coronavirus. However, in a tweet, he confirmed that the result was a false positive, and he is in the clear.
