The filming of Santhi Soundarajan: The Sunlight Woman was kickstarted today in Pudukkottai with a puja ceremony. The film is based on the life of Indian athlete Santhi Soundarajan, known for bagging 12 international medals for India and around 50 medals for Tamil Nadu. 

The film is written and directed by Jayaseelan Dhavaputhalvi. The makers will be revealing the lead actor tomorrow on the occasion of Tamil New Year’s Day.

Bankrolled by 888 Productions, the film's unit will also be traveling to Punjab, Qatar, and Oman for further shooting.

The film will have music by Ghibran and sound design by Academy Award-winner Resul Pookutty. Yuga Bharathi and Pon Parthiban will be penning the lyrics and dialogues, respectively.
