Karnan to be released as planned, despite 50% occupancy

Kalaipuli S Thanu has confirmed that Dhanush's Karnan will hit the screens tomorrow, adhering to the government's guidelines to restrict theatre occupancy to 50%.

Tamil Nadu government released its revised lockdown guidelines earlier today and had mentioned that all theatres and multiplexes should function with only 50 per cent occupancy.

It may be noted that Vijay's Master, which is considered the biggest release in South Indian cinema post-COVID, was released under the same conditions, but went on to become a hit.

Karnan, directed by Mari Selvaraj, also stars Rejisha Vijayan, Gauri Kishan and Lal. The film has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
