Vijay rode a bicycle to the polling booth earlier today to cast his vote. The move of the actor was initially reported as one meant to spread awareness among the people about the importance of voting. But, an update from the actor's PRO Riyaz, later in the day, stated that he opted to take the cycle as the roads that lead to the polling booth are too narrow for his car to pass through. The actor's polling station is Vels International School, Neelangarai, which is near his residence in Chennai.

Vijay had reportedly planned the move in advance, as he was accompanied by his fan club members in motorcycles during this rally. The move of the actor is being compared to a scene from his film Sarkar, which highlighted the importance of voting.

Even though police security was in place and only area residents were allowed near the polling booth, officials found it extremely hard to control the fans who thronged the place.

Despite the actor wearing a mask throughout, most of his fans weren't seen sporting any protective aids.
