Taapsee Pannu has begun shooting for Shabaash Mithu, which is based on the life of Mithali Raj, the ODI Captain of the women's national cricket team. The Game Over-actor posted a picture from the sets of the film, in which she can be seen wearing cricket gear. “Let’s go… Day 1!” wrote Taapsee, who was last seen in the Anubhav Sinha directorial, Thappad.

In February, Taapsee reacted to a news article on the film, which wrongly described Mithali as the ‘former’ cricket captain. Emphasising the importance of the film, she tweeted "You do realise she is still the captain of the Indian women's cricket team that's going for the upcoming World Cup. Exactly the reason why this film needs to be made!”

Shabaash Mithu is being helmed by Rahul Dholakia and bankrolled by Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

Tapsee is currently awaiting multiple releases, including Haseen Dillruba, Jana Gana Mana, Rashmi Rocket, and Looop Lapeta.
