Akshay Kumar tests positive for COVID-19, under home quarantine

Akshay Kumar, who was shooting for his upcoming film, Ram Setu, revealed that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is under home quarantine. 

In a statement, Akshay said, "I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols I have immediately isolated myself. I am under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me get themselves tested and take care. Back in action soon!' he said.

Akshay joins the list of Bollywood celebrities, comprising actors like Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kartik Aaryan, who recently contracted the virus.

Meanwhile, Akshay is currently awaiting the release of Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi, and has Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re, Farhad Samji's Bachchan Pandey, Ranjit Tiwari's Bell Bottom and YRF's Prithviraj in various stages of production.
