Salma Hayek joins Ridley Scott's House of Gucci

CE Features

Salma Hayek is the latest addition to the cast of veteran filmmaker Ridley Scott's House of Gucci.

The film will feature pop star Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Guccio Gucci's grandson Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver). Hayek will join a star cast that includes Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto, and Jack Huston.

Reggiani was abandoned in 1985, after 12 years of marriage, by Maurizio Gucci for a younger woman. She was tried and convicted of orchestrating her ex-husband's assassination on the steps of his office in Italy in 1995. Reggiani got the nickname the Black Widow during the trial and served 18 years before being released from prison in 2016.

Hayek is set to essay the role of Pina Auriemma, a clairvoyant friend of Reggiani.

Presented by MGM, the film has a script written by Roberto Bentivegna. It will be produced by Ridley and Giannina Scott's Scott Free Productions banner.

Hayek most recently featured in Bliss. She will also be seen in Lionsgate's The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard and in Marvel Studios' upcoming series The Eternals.
